Robert Burns Ellisland Trust are bringing the music of Burns and the story of Ellisland to the historic Theatre Royal Dumfries this Burns season. This is a rare opportunity to hear the works Robert Burns wrote while living in Dumfriesshire, performed by an acclaimed trio of musicians, on the very stage Burns himself supported and wrote for, centuries ago.
Scots singer Robyn Stapleton, flautist Claire Mann and harpist Wendy Stewart will join forces in what is set to be an enchanting celebration of Burns’ music from his time at Ellisland Farm, including some of his greatest works like Auld Lang Syne. Featuring the recently restored Burns Family Flute, their performance will mark the first time the flute has been played in Dumfries in over 150 years.
Expect to be immersed in the Robert Burns Ellisland Trust’s mission to Save the Home of Auld Lang Syne. From the music of Burns’ time at Ellisland, to the site’s design, buildings and collections, you will learn about the mission to restore and conserve Ellisland Farm as a site of cultural importance to Dumfries and Scotland’s heritage.
Join us at this momentous event and support Robert Burns Ellisland Trust to Save the Home of Auld Lang Syne.
